(More customer reviews)As a first year RN student, writing care plans was difficult. This book makes it so easy! It gives you the description of the disease, the etiology and pathophysiology, assessment, priority nursing diagnosis, planning and implementation, client teaching/education, expected outcomes and evaluations and medication information. At the beginning of each chapter are objectives, a pretest, an overview of anatomy and physiology of the system, diagnostic tests and measurements, common nursing techniques and procedures and nursing management of the client who is having/had surgery. The chapters conclude with a case study and a posttest. Both pre and posttests come with answers and rationals, which I find extremely helpful in understanding why you would do this but not that. Online help is also available but I have not used it or the cd which comes with it. One final note, Gulanick/Myers Nursing Care Plans (6th Edition) is another fantastic book for care plans! Hope this helps!
