I am currently a student of Professor McNamara at Washington State University. He covers his topics very well, just as in the book, covering many different parts of animal nutrition across the different forms of domestic animal life. A must read for anyone with pets, to better understand what their diets should entail.

The author took the format of the Blakely and Blade's popular The Science of Animal Husbandry and added an additional emphasis on more modern husbandry, science, and welfare concerns for the 21st Century. Including some additional species that have caught the interest of agriculture. For readers in the agriculture or dairy industry that need information on the modern day science of raising livestock.
