This book was a great resource for my writing class. However, I was not able to receive this book in the mail and had to borrow it from someone the entire term. Basically, this book is good but don't rely on people to send it to you on time. I still do not have the book and it has been a month and a half. thanks for reading.

The first composition text to present in-depth primary and secondary research methods, disciplinary readings and writing instruction to facilitate authentic investigations. Composing Inquiry is a reader/rhetoric that takes seriously the call to engage undergraduates in intellectual work. All of the readings included here serve to illustrate methods of research and investigation used in various academic disciplines, and all inspire similar projects that can be done by undergraduate students as they learn to work on their writing. Unlike traditional readers, Composing Inquiry also includes chapters meant to help students understand methods of inquiry commonly used by scholars to collect data or test theories. These method chapters can be used in conjunction with the readings or independently, depending on the program/course goals or the preferences of individual teachers.

I am in a unique position to make mention of this book. I am currently a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin. I originally used this book, in unpublished form, as a freshman in Dr. Siska's course. As a senior I helped to teach from this book by holding extra help session for Dr. Siska. Since then, I have had the opportunity to teach from two other general chemistry books. Dr. Siska's University Chemistry is the most physically oriented general chemistry book you are likely to come by. His general approach allows for any budding young chemist to gain an impeccable understanding of the physical foundation of chemistry. Additionally, this text does not read like most introductory texts. Dr. Siska's humor and love for the history of science shine through. I looked back at the unpublished versions of this text many times during my undergraduate education and obtained a hard cover version as soon as I could. I highly recommend this book.

I did not read every chapter in the book, but I did go through a lot of them for a class that I took, and it was a good enough book that I did not really mind reading it. I learned about different things, such as the training in the military and the life of a hit man, and also about the terrible situation in Thailand. In that country, there are around 35,000 girls who are enslaved in the sex trade, and there are probably about 500,000 to 1 million total prostitutes there. Sadly, the United Nations and others have well documented the terrible crimes that go on along with this practice (torture, rape, execution), but it seems that very little is being done to stop what is going on there.
I pray God frees those girls who are enslaved in Thailand and elsewhere, and that horrible practices such as this, murder, rape, domestic violence, persecution, racism, and abortion, no longer continue. We should all stand against these terrible crimes.

An Introduction to Mathematical Biology Review

This is a very nice book for who has some previous knowledge about college math and wants to apply it to modeling some biological problems. Actually, biomath has become more and more popular in the recent years and this book provides a clear and thorough review for some most interesting topics out there. The book serves well as both textbook and reference book. It is very well written, organized, full of examples and the proofs were given in details whenever necessary. Nothing comes out in a sudden and this is very important for a math book. One feature I particularly like is at the beginning of each chapter, some brief review involving the key math technique is given, which saves a lot of time for people like me who almost completely forgot how to solve ODE. BTW, some of the exercises after each chapter are quite challenging but interesting too. Overall, it is a great book and I would recommend it to anyone who want to gain an overall view of biomathematics.

Material is organized according to the mathematical theory rather than the biological application. Contains applications of mathematical theory to biological examples in each chapter. Focuses on deterministic mathematical models with an emphasis on predicting the qualitative solution behavior over time. Discusses classical mathematical models from population , including the Leslie matrix model, the Nicholson-Bailey model, and the Lotka-Volterra predator-prey model. Also discusses more recent models, such as a model for the Human Immunodeficiency Virus - HIV and a model for flour beetles. KEY MARKET: Readersseeking a solid background in the mathematics behind modeling in biology and exposure to a wide variety of mathematical models in biology.
