Kant Selections Review

Kant Selections
Average Reviews:

Lewis White Beck's KANT SELECTIONS is an excellent, scholarly introduction to Kant's thought, ideal for the serious student who wishes to gain a broad understanding of Kant's thought while keeping the reading to under 500 pages. While this obviously necessitates severe editing of the Kant corpus, nevertheless, several important works are presented in their entirety. The selected translations are readable, though one should remember that this is Kant, so it is not light reading. Beck's introductions and remarks are quite informative and help clarify, which is what one would expect from a Kant scholar of his stature. As the book lacks an index, and many works are severely abridged, this is not good as a reference book.
