This is a great book for learning and teaching Inventor. If you have never used Inventor I would recommend Shih's Book (Parametric Modeling with Autodesk Inventor). Once you get started this book is a great help.

Instant Design: Fundamentals of Autodesk Inventor 2010 Review

I bought this for my intro engineering class and this book is very easy to follow for the most part. The terminology and icon symbols will be hard to understand and remember in the beginning, but eventually it will be very easy. This book is well written so anyone who uses inventor can follow step-by-step and it has few exercises at the end of each chapter to practice what you have learned in that chapter with the software itself. I would recommend this to anyone who is taking CAD courses or any other engineering courses that require a design in orthographic views.

This book is carefully targeted toward today's students. It is a balanced (CAD and CAM) text with up to date information on rapid prototyping, NT-based solid modeling systems and Web-related issues, all hot topics. Complicated mathematical terminology is kept to a minimum; instead, the concepts are explained in as intuitive a way as possible. Students are required to have a background only in programming, calculus, and matrix and vector algebra. The book is on the leaner side as the author feels that too many texts obscure the fundamental concepts with too many details.
