I fell in love with the earlier two books in the same series written by Mr Martin and I have them (even though for some reason I have misplaced the very first one or maybe someone has just taken it away from my huge library). This book (the 3rd one) not only describes the initial system design and the constructive path to get to it, but also gives a detailed process of meeting the various needs of the end user in a more direct manner. The sessions on the cumulative efforts on the part of planning and design form the brain and the heart of the entire system development life cycle and these have been exhibited with great features in the book. And lastly, considering that this book was written over a decade ago, the various other topics (like the org charts, the action diagrams, the diagramming standards, etc:) are very well explained in details considering the time and the effort put in by Mr Martin.
