Additionally, the reader gains knowledge of the history and societal trends that influence religious thought and religious development. I consider this book a "must have" for anyone teaching or studying world religions.

The book examines each of the major world religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, Christianity, the religions of China and Japan, and Native American and African religious traditions, in a straightforward, accessible manner.
