(More customer reviews)I don't have any complaints regarding this book. After all, it taught me QuickBooks from the book perspective. (I took a community college course that utilized this book at the same time that I was working as a full-charge bookkeeper using QuickBooks on a daily basis. So I got the practical and the academic perspective at the same time.)
The book has three modes of instruction: hand-in-hand walkthrough (and I do mean hand-in-hand - every step is laboriously written out for the student to follow); a more free exercise to practice what you are learning; and then a let-loose approach that offers scenarios for you to complete without the crutch.
In all, the approaches are fine, especially for someone who has never looked at QuickBooks before. I think that a person who is honest with him-/herself and goes through the book - at least the first "half" that deals with the primary function of the program (the latter "half" deals with payroll processes using QuickBooks) - will definitely be prepared for 80% of what he or she will face in the business place. Combining the knowledge from this book with real-life experience with the product will definitely speed up a person's abilities with QuickBooks.
